Stoke Lodge Farm Christmas Tree Equipment This project enabled us to purchase a new specialist Christmas tree tractor & sprayer system with some additional attachments which we use across our plantations. This enables mechanisation, increasing productivity and quality. The project was part funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. It was applied for through the LEADER Programme in the Clay Vales area.

Welcome to Stoke Goldington Christmas Trees

We are once again welcoming customers to the farm for choose-your-own Christmas tree sales this year. This will be our fourteenth year selling to the public 'from the farm gate' and we're hoping for another really successful season.

Thanks to everyone who visited us during our 2019 season. We loved welcoming many new visitors who enjoyed their first foray to the farm to choose their own tree from the field, and enjoyed catching up with many repeat customers too. Due to the way dates fell last year we took the decision to officially open for 3 weekends instead of 4. We had to buy in more stocks of Nordmann Fir from our usual Farm supplier in Surrey to ease our own stocks, and bought in some Norway Spruce from a farm just the other side of Olney to help with stocks, once our own supply of Spruce had sold. We had anticipated this situation for some years and overall were pleased that we were still able to welcome just as many customers to the Farm and sell British grown trees, at least if not all necessarily grown here. Moving forwards to the forthcoming 2020 season though, our stocks of Nordmann Fir are looking good and growing well, as many customers could see when we opened the gate to a new plantation of 10,000 Fir towards the end of the 2019 season. We will also have more homegrown Norway Spruce available in the top section of our main plantation, and in the small plantation the other side of the Farm road. We may still have to source some stocks of Spruce very locally, depending on visitor numbers in 2020.

This year we are very excited to be planting a new plantation of 16,000 Nordmann Fir to further secure our stocks for the future. This is a long-term business! Customers last year could see the area of the field fenced out opposite our farm buildings ready for this new planting - the wet Autumn of 2019 beat us with planting but we aim to plant in Autumn this year.

Our log-cabin style shop continues to prove very welcoming for customers to gather around the wood-burning stove for a complimentary glass of mulled wine before or after choosing their tree. Also our selection of 'The Fruity Farmer' fruit gins and liqueurs which we make here on the farm, along with Rapeseed Oil too, are a welcome add-on for customers to enjoy and purchase. There are now 12 liqueurs in our range - Sloe Gin, Rhubarb Gin, Seville Orange Gin, Strawberry Gin, Apple & Blackberry Gin, Gooseberry Gin, Quince Gin, Limoncello, Raspberry Vodka, Cherry Brandy, Blackberry Whisky and Seville Orange Rum.
Don't forget we also sell handmade wreaths for your front door plus holly brought in from orchards on the Quantock Hills in Somerset.....plus logs and kindling for those all-important Christmas fires!

Families and children absolutely love the outing to the farm. You can put on your wellies (spare wellies are available if you forget yours) and walk around the field to choose the perfect tree for the space in your home. The 'grown-ups' can enjoy a glass of mulled wine whilst they take time to choose their tree, whilst the youngsters can race around the field in the fresh air. We will cut your tree down for you, carry it back to the cabin and net-wrap it ready to take back home. For many customers it is becoming an annual outing to the farm during the busy and very exciting Christmas season!

Fresh, farm-grown Christmas trees are the ideal adornment to your home, with their beautiful foliage and aromatic scent. Buy British this year!
