TREE CARE & TIPS

Tips to keep your tree fresh all through the Christmas period

As your tree is cut fresh from the field, it can be taken straight indoors & placed in a water-holding stand

If you decide to keep the tree outdoors for a few days, just put it in a bucket of water, sheltered from the wind and sun. When you are ready to bring it indoors, you can cut 1cm off the base of the trunk if you would like to. This ensures the tree stem is open and can take up water. Immediately put the tree in the stand and fill it with fresh water

Remember, trees are very thirsty! They can drink between 0.5 and 2 litres of water every day. Always use a water holding stand with a capacity of one to two litres. Check the stand daily and fill with fresh water as needed

Don't forget to dispose of your tree thoughtfully. Find out about local recycling schemes. Most local authorities operate a chipping scheme. Look them up and call for more information or look out for details in your local press.
